This afternoon, NASSCO was informed that two employees have tested presumptively positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). One employee last worked on April 21, 2020 in the Matson engine room, and that area has already been sanitized. The second individual last worked on April 24, 2020 in SOC 6. Contact tracing investigation, cleaning and disinfecting plans are underway. All individuals found to have been in close contact with these employees will be notified.
This week there have been several circumstances of individuals coming in to work, and being sent home for showing symptoms related to COVID-19. As a reminder, common symptoms of COVID-19 are:
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Repeated shaking with Chills
- New loss of taste or smell
- Unusual headache
- Muscle pain
