Regarding the passing of U.S. Senator John Glenn:
Today we celebrate the life of an American hero and icon – Senator John Glenn.
In 2014, NASSCO shipbuilders had the distinct honor of delivering the USNS John Glenn (ESD-2) to the U.S. Navy. A 785-foot-long ship designed to aid America’s uniformed men and women around the globe, the ship’s advanced capabilities reflect its namesake’s spirit of innovation, inspiration, courage, and dedication to this nation. May the ship always carry Senator John Glenn’s remarkable legacy as an American pioneer and a defender of freedom.
